APSIG Mini Star Party Oct 18th, 2014

The Astrophotography Special Interest Group (APSIG) is holding a mini star party at the TAS Dark Site near Atoka on Oct 18th, 2014. All TAS members and their guests are welcome whether or not you do astrophotography.

If the event is cancelled due to weather a notice will be posted on the TAS Facebook page, in the TAS forums and the APSIG Yahoo group by 12:00 pm.  The backup date, in case of bad weather, is Oct 25th, 2014.


APSIG will be holding seminars in the Rivard Learning Center during the afternoon.  Everyone is invited and no AP experience is necessary.

Rivard Learning Center

3-4pm               Planetary Imaging: Jupiter - George Hall
4-5pm               Introduction to Astrophotography - Phillip Easton, Ph.D.
5-6pm             Training on the 16” scope (visual only no AP) – Contact Dave Hutchison to reserve a spot (limit 3-4 people per session)  
North Pad Sites
See examples of two types of observatories dedicated to imaging.

5-6pm               Show and Tell at Max's POD - Max Corneau  (view an imaging system on a pier)  Max said he will be making coffee later so bring your mugs.
 5-6pm              Show and Tell at Tony's Roll-off.

Site wide

6-8pm                  Dinner in the pavilion (Bring your own food) and equipment setup
9:00 pm - ?          Observe and image!
