Solar Viewing at next APSIG Meeting!
Jeff Barton has agreed to organize a Solar Viewing event before the next APSIG meeting on Sept. 6 at the Timberglen Library. The viewing will begin around 1:00.
So come on out and see what the sun is up to (as hot as it's been, you KNOW it's up to something).
This event (and the following APSIG meeting) are both open to the public. Thanks to Jeff for organizing this!
APSIG (Astrophotography Special Interest Group) is sponsored by the Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas, Texas.
APSIG meets four nights a month to share information and learn more about the art and science of Astrophotography --taking photographs of objects in the night sky such as planets, galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters. Imaging these celestial objects requires special techniques and equipment, but are attainable by anyone willing to point their camera skyward. Come learn how!
Meetings typically include brief workshops and/or lectures, Q&A, and Show and Tell of recent images taken by our members. Want to know more? Please join us! Our meetings are open to the public. Watch his page for meeting schedule and location as well as special events.
Also, please consider joining our parent organization the Texas Astronomical Society (TAS). TAS also has monthly meetings and wonderful guest speakers, and is a great place to learn about astronomy and those celestial objects you want to image!
